The reality is that the cartels are too powerful. More and more violence will spill over into the US and there isn't much the US can do about it. We are too pussy to even control the border, so there's no way we are going to do anything to these violent cartels. The cartels will start executing sheriffs and police officers and then no one will want to be come a sheriff or police office just like in Mexico.
